Overview
The Master’s Degree in Mathematics is classified in Class LM-40. It takes two years to be completed. To achieve the title, a Student gets 120 university credits (CFU).
The title awarded at the end of the cycle is the Degree (Magistrale) in Mathematics. The title allows access to second level Masters and PhD programs. The Degree Program aims to provide a solid cultural and methodological preparation in the fundamental fields of mathematics (analysis, algebra, geometry, probability, mathematical physics, numerical analysis) in view of their use in specialist areas of both theoretical and applicative nature.
This will allow graduates to selectively take a path to mathematical research, pure or applied, and to assume roles of high responsibility in advanced scientific research projects, in the construction and computational development of mathematical models in different fields (e.g. scientific, environmental, health fields, industrial, financial, as well as services and public administration); in schools and research institutions, offices, studies and, in general, in all companies for which the modeling of physical phenomena is relevant. The peculiar characteristics of his training will open, finally, to the graduate in the Master’s Degree in Mathematics the opportunity to pursue professional careers in areas other than scientific-technological.
