TOLC test
General information about the TOLC test for admission to Bachelor Courses
The TOLC (CISIA Online Test) is a standardized online test provided by *CISIA, the Consortium of Inter-University Integrated Access Systems”.
The test is used by most Italian universities to assess applicants’ competencies for both limited-access and open-access courses. In the case of limited-access courses, the TOLC result is used to establish rankings for course admission.
There are 11 different types of TOLC tests, so please check the course page on our platform to confirm the specific test required for admission.
The test can be taken in person (“TOLC at the University”) or, more commonly, remotely from home (TOLC@Home). For the remote option, you’ll need a private, quiet room, a computer, and either a smartphone or tablet.
Many universities in Italy host sessions of the test, in class or remotely: regardless of which university organizes the test’s supervision, your TOLC results will allow you to access our degree programs.
Please note that taking the TOLC test alone is not sufficient for admission; you must also apply to the course on apply.unimib.it.
