MASTER DEGREE - required documents

All the documents you need to prepare in order to apply and enroll in one of our MA or MSC


Basic entry requirement for a Master Degree is a first-cycle university degree (level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework — EQF), obtained from a higher education institution and allowing students to enrol in a degree programme of the following cycle (level 7 of the EQF).

If you are applying for a Master Degree you will need to submit:
1. Curriculum Vitae (Résumé) in English;
2. Transcript of records
3. Academic qualification- If you have yet to obtain your final qualification, an enrolment or provisional certificate is also accepted.
4. Valid ID card (ONLY for EU or EU-equated applicants) or passport;
5. Italian residence permit (ONLY for non-EU applicants already residing in Italy);
6. English Language certificate or other language certifications if required, please check on the call of application
7. Any other document required on the call of application of the programme

Our credentials evaluators may ask you to produce further documentation in order to evaluate your qualification. The production of false documentation will be reported to the head of the educational sector for the adoption of appropriate measures.

Enrollment will be considered complete once the student has submitted the following documentation via the platform apply.unimib.it:
Degree diploma in the original language with legalization, if not previously submitted
Translation of the degree diploma if it is not already available in one of the following languages: Italian, English, French, Spanish, or German
Tax identification code (codice fiscale)
Residence permit or renewal request (for non-EU students already residing in Italy)
Any additional documentation requested by the University’s credential evaluators through the platform apply.unimib.it

Additionally, for non-EU candidates applying for a student visa:
Receipt of the pre-enrollment application made on the Universitaly portal
Entry visa and receipt of the residence permit application. The entry visa must be issued by January 31, 2026
English or Italian language certification at B2 level from those accepted by the University (or TOLC ITA L2 result)

Candidates participating in the Marco Polo Program must provide:
Proof of successful completion of the Italian language course held in Italy, clearly indicating the level achieved at the end of the course and Certification of Italian language proficiency at level B1
